Ileana Cristina Cardona Fernández joined Indiano & Williams, P.S.C. as a law clerk in November, 2012. She was promoted to Junior Associate in February, 2015.
Ms. Cardona Fernández was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 2007, she graduated from Academia María Reina and attended the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus until 2011, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude, in Hispanic Studies. During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Cardona Fernández was a ballet and hip-hop dancer, as well as a dance teacher to children under the age of 13.
In 2011, Ms. Cardona Fernández began her Juris Doctor studies at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, School of Law. During her Law School years, Ms. Cardona Fernández was the public relations director for her graduating class. She was also a writer and Associate Director for the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, School of Law’s Law Review, during which time she wrote and published two articles: De castaño a oscuro: el “bullying” más allá de las angustias mentales, 47 Rev. Jurídica U. Inter. P.R. 187, Aug-May 2012-2013; and La doctrina del capitán del barco: relato de un naufragio jurídico, 48 Rev. Jurídica U. Inter. P.R. 171, Aug-May 2013-2014.
Ms. Cardona Fernández joined the Indiano & Williams, P.S.C. team in 2012 as a law clerk, during which time she provided legal research, document drafting, and client management assistance to the attorneys at the firm. Upon completing her law school studies, Ms. Cardona Fernández passed the Puerto Rico Bar Exam within the top 93rd percentile in September 2014 and was admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in February 2015. Ms. Cardona is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
