Associate
Lidiana T. Economou was born in London, England, where she lived until moving with her family to San Juan, Puerto Rico. After graduating from high school in San Juan, Lidiana attended the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Public Health with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
Lidiana received her Juris Doctor from the InterAmerican School of Law. As a law student, she spent a term at Oxford University’s Harris Manchester College in Oxford, England, as a visiting student. She was selected twice to represent the InterAmerican School of Law at UCLA’s Williams Institute’s Annual Moot Court Competition. Lidiana also served as a teaching assistant for Legal Research, Writing, and Analysis, as well as Federal Criminal Procedure. Additionally, Lidiana briefly served as a student law clerk in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Puerto Rico for the Honorable Brian K. Tester, before serving as a student law clerk in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico for the Honorable Daniel R. Domínguez and later the Honorable Gustavo A. Gelpí.
Lidiana graduated summa cum laude and received her law school’s Private Law Award. Following graduation, she completed a one-year term clerkship with the Honorable Gustavo A. Gelpí. Upon completion of her clerkship, Lidiana joined the law firm of Pietrantoni, Méndez & Álvarez as an associate. During this time, she also instructed the InterAmerican School of Law’s Introduction to the Bar course, in partnership with BARBRI.
Lidiana later attended Columbia University Law School, where she earned her LL.M. in May 2022. While at Columbia, she participated in the Sexuality and Gender Practicum and was involved with the Columbia Journal of Gender and Law. She also served as an intern with the New York–based nonprofit Community Service Society’s Community Health Advocates, assisting individuals in appealing adverse health insurance benefit determinations.
After earning her LL.M., Lidiana returned to the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico for a two-year term clerkship, which was subsequently extended to a third year, serving the Honorable Jay A. García-Gregory. Upon completing her tenure as a law clerk in December 2025, Lidiana accepted her current position as an associate at Indiano & Williams.
Lidiana is licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C., and in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
