In 2021 family members sue hospital and doctors in federal and state courts for damages when their loved one died due to an unrecognized and untreated acute myocardial infarction (heart attack). Treating doctors failed to promptly test, diagnose and treat the patient despite elevated cardiac enzymes and other obvious clinical signs and symptoms. Inadequate nursing care, monitoring and response, delayed an earlier diagnosis and treatment which would have prevented patient’s death. The case was settled to the family’s satisfaction in 2023.
